In this section of our forum you can talk about anything you'd like to that's unrelated to pets.
If you have a big event coming up, such as a Graduation, Wedding, Party or whatever it is then please feel free to share.
We'd love to get to know you better and this is a great place to start ;D

my daughter was hovering over me as her friend was sending her messages all the time; no one gets a look in: as I was saying; we tried antelope last year; they also have wild boar and venison ; don't mind the venison; not quite sure about the wild boar; I think I'll stick to turkey for christmas dinner: did try goose one year but wasn't over impressed: do they have all these different meats over there; of course they do sell horse meat and although I'm told its delicious; I wont be trying that; do they eat horse in the states?

Horse Meat! Heavens No! American's usually stick with Turkey and Ham for the Holidays but I don't know about all the other meats you mention..................sounds pretty gross to me! My Dad was a hunter when I was younger and used to hunt deer but I hated that! I used to pray he wouldn't shoot a deer but usually he did and would bring it home for the local Butcher to cut and pack it for him. My Mom used to trick us into eating it by telling us it was hamburger ....but I always knew the difference and refused to eat it! Any wonder why I'm a Vegetarian now?

been looking at kitchens today, I'm really in need of a kitchen; at moment all I have is typical french kitchen; no cupboards; curtain under sink; no drawers or shelves; I'm using an old fridge as a cupboard; plus a record cabinet and a drinks trolley: it will be so nice to have a proper kitchen at last; especially as I've been use to a kitchen 24 long in England. The weathers not too bad at moment; very cold first thing and in evening; but during the day its quite warm, with lovely blue sky; all the daffodils are coming up and the fruit trees are in bud, soon be spring!!

"No Kitchen!" I don't know what I'd do without a kitchen! It must be real hard for you I'm so happy your finally going to have one ;D How come the French don't have kitchens in their homes? That's really strange.... It's still pretty cold here but it has been raining all day...a very Cold Rain....! My tulips started showing just before the freezing temps we had so hopefully they bloom for Spring......I'm so tired of this cold weather............I can't wait for Springtime

they have small kitchens; but don't seem to have all the cupboards we're used to; its always a curtain under the sink; and odd bits and bobs; but they cook outdoors a lot on the barbies; all the houses have barbecues built outside; we do; but I'm not into them; prefer and electric grill than you know the meats cooked; mind you; they seem to eat the meat almost raw here; I like my steak rare; but I also like to think its been cooked a bit!!!

I have a good friend here in the states that's originally from Belgium. She has lived in France but never mentioned the cooking conditions while there. I do know the French are very hospitable ....but eating raw meat? Maybe that's why my good friend likes fish sooo much...hehehe.... I'll have to ask her about the raw meat thing....YUK! Of course, ya know I'm a Vegetarian so anything meat is disgusting to me....yuk!

Its not quite raw; but not far short; mind you looking at the chefs on the tele; they seem to leave the meat red inside:my father-in-law would turn in his grave if he saw the way the meats served up in these posh resturants; there was a story on the tv yesterday; a new resturant has opened and the set meal costs about $2000 per head:
one reason I can't wait for my kitchen is the mice. we have wood panelling in the kitchen and the mice live behind them; one spend time in the cupboard eating through my packets of food; anything I think he'll eat is now in plastic containers or in another cupboard: even found two dead in the bottle of oil; they had chewed the lid and fallen in: nasty way to die; but I'm glad I noticed them before I used the oil; you'd think with 23 cats; I wouldn't have mice; especially indoors: must admit they're very sweet: they are field mice; tiny with big ears!!
