When I was young, I can remember gold fish were always placed in a round fish bowl. Maybe that's why mine died I rarely changed Goldie's water and when I did I just used plain cold tap because that's what everyone else did. Poor Goldie Thank goodness, since I grew up, I now know you need a good size tank with a filter substrate etc. for your gold fish to survive. So, now that I'm finally over the shock of losing Goldie I decided to try again, this time with a 20 gal tank. I have two Orandas, a calico and a red cap. They have a chinese algae eater to take care of the algae. I do a 10% water change once a week to keep their home clean. They seem to very happy fish! Share your fish tales about your gold fish and don't forget the pictures too!

ohhh poor Goldie.. I had the same experience as a child. So good that we all learn as we get older.
I am happy to see that you have tried new fish. You have all my favorite goldies too, I want to see pictures LOL.

sorry about goldie Most people do make that mistake, but so far, I have not! My Common Goldfish Sunset, is with a fruit tetra in a 10 gallon tank, I really do need to get her a 20 gallon, because she is 5 and 1 1/2 inches long! I have had her for 2 years and a few months now, she is VERY happy, and eats a TON!!! LOL! Cant wait to see your goldies! I love the Bubble eyed goldfish, the lion heads are nice too. but I think the bubble eyes are my favorit! Melody
