Well it does give them something to do over the long hot summer. The heat is getting really oppressive around here. I hate to go outdoors for anything.

Yep, I know what you mean! It's been real hot and humid here too! Staying in doors is all you can really do if you have air conditioning which I don't We have fans in every room and in a few windows at night when it cools down a little. I have to put ice packs in Lucy and Sally's cage to cool them down. I wrap them in towels and they lay right on top of them to cool off. They Love it

OMGosh I had no idea you did not have a/c. That must be terrible. I know it is terrible here and i have 2 window units running but the trailer stays hotter without shade and so we are always only 5 degrees cooler then outside. Not haveing a/c would be a big pet peeve of mine. I know been there done that. The only problem with the trailer is that it retains the heat very well from the sun until the winter lol.
The ice packs are a very good idea for the girls cage. I'll bet they love it.

WOW! 5 degrees isn't much of a difference in inside temps If I was in your State I'm sure I'd insist on AC too! Is your trailer metal? If it is, I've been told they do retain a lot of heat. That must be very uncomfortable in the summer How's Jack, Missy and Alice holding up in the heat? Well, if you have AC I'm sure they're ding fine, as long as they stay indoors. Our home stays cooler inside for most of the day. We have a Manufactured home so it's pretty well insulated but when the temps reach in the high 90's it would be nice if we had AC but so far it's just fans that are running here. Our state of Washington usually stays in the 70's to 80's in the summer months but for the past few years we've experienced some really hot summers. I really think it's time for us to invest in air conditioning. Yes, Lucy and Sally really love the ice packs! It's soo cute to watch them climb on top of the towel wrapped ice pack and do they're puurrrs! They both hop up on the same one even though they are getting too big to fit on one.

Yes it is metal fromt he early 70's when metal was king of moblile homes. LOL. So far we are all pretty much used to it being warmer in here, but it is still 5 degrees cooler then it is outdoors. In the hottest part of the day we all take a nap LOL. I would love to have much better insulation and a white rooftop to reflect away the sun. Maybe a very large shade tree that shaded us duringthe hottest part of the day. It is the global warming thing that is causing all the temps to go haywire I think.

A shade tree might do the trick. We planted 3 small maples in our front yard after we bought our home. We were the first manufactured home in this park and we didn't have any shade from the afternoon sun that hits the front of our house. It's been 5 years and the trees are about 30' tall now. We sure have a lot of shade now! We also have a house in front of us now that helps block the sun too! The park is also almost completely full after almost 6 years living here. I think I liked it better when we were the only home because the space between our house and the house in front is only about 2 to 3'. Thank goodness we were able to get a big lot and put our fence up before they started moving more homes in here!

There used to be a tree inthe middle of the front but they cut it down for soe reason and it keeps coming back up as a bushy looking thing now. Good thing you all got you spaced fenced prior to neighbors. I know how terrible my neighbor is......... But I also know that not everyone is like that.

Sorry about the shade tree, it's too bad they had to cut it down Maybe if you trimmed the bushy thing it would grow back as a tree? I've had my share of bad neighbors, trust me on that one I'd have to write a book if I were to tell you all about the nasty things two different neighbors did to me and my family over the years. You wouldn't believe a lot of it I don't believe it myself All the neighbors we have here are very nice, especially the horse and cow owners

I have thought about trimming it. I may have no choice since it is coming back up again.

You might evenually have a shade tree again in the process if you do trim the bush. It may take a few years to grow back but it would be worth it!
