Someone asked me today if I'd like to go back to England; Why should I want to? here we are still going out in tee-shirts; england; they had the central heating on in June; its been raining for weeks on end in England; here we have had about 45 days of rain this year: we have just wandered down the field; the dogs playing in the river ; picking wild mushrooms: I have a bowl full of walnuts and hazelnuts from our trees; a freezer full of figs; blackberries; apples: need I go on; Tell me would you want to go back? In England theres someone stabbed everyweek: theres more foreigners than English: everything has gone up in price!

last night we went to our French neighbours birthday party; she had decorated all the table and laid on some lovely food; we started with pizza, foie gras and smoked salmon, then leg of lamb, beans and duchesse potatoes;then cheeses then 3 different cakes: I am afraid to say I had rather a lot of Sangria; and everybody else had perhaps too much: it was topped of with champagne: She has had a few big worries lately and it was great to see her dancing and enjoying herself: now I have a bit of a headache; and am very tired: We never went out so much in the UK:
