It makes me so angry and I cannot do anything that would help at all.
Here it is:
My other next door neighbor, the one that had orginally taken in the pregnant stray a year and a half ago, and dumped her over last spring because she could not find anyone to take her in, but kept 2 of her kittens, has now dumped the 2 kittens(now adults) and the 3 remaing kittens that they produced because she chose not to have them fixed. In fact she swore she was a good cat owner. BuLL Good cat owners get them in to the vet for shots and have them spayed or neutered before they can reproduce again, and when they can no longer keep them they do not just toss them outdoors to care for themselves. The newest kittens appear to be around 4 months old, and they are staying with thier mom and dad underneath Her trailer, but they come out daily to hunt for food (BIRDS) that come to eat at my bird feeder. They are pretty much unphased by me and Jack when we go outside and just sit there staring at us. Yesterdy on of the youngsters came up to us and smelled us, I reached down and petted his head, then he returned to his abandoned family. Jack was totally frightened by the entire thing, and tried to hide. His hair on his back was sticking up. I am just at a total loss as to what to do about this nasty neighbor that has been causeing me all these problems claiming Jack has been "going" in her yard, claiming more then half of my yard was hers, and now dumping all these innocents out to fend for themselves. I have reported her to animal control on more then 1 occasion, but they do nothing. They do not even stop the truck and investigate the area for the cats. I feel totally ignored about this issue.
I know that all the cats would make good cats to have at home(anyone's but mine) because they are not yet feral, but is it really my responsability to rehome everyone elses unwanteds? They are constantly in my yard, and I feel violated by her, but I also feel for these poor cats too. I know I could never bring them into my home because they would be constantly torchuring my birds, and I cannot afford to feed them and provide them litter while I try to find homes for them. I just wish that there was something usefull I could do that would not cause me a problem. I am tired of calling animal control and them not doing anything.
Sorry for the rant, but I get to the point where these things are getting to me.
