Wish more would be on the board..... Need some ideas. Azul is breaking blood feathers here and there. I still have to chase him to get him. How do I break him of the habit of having me chase him?

if i remember correctly i tried to give you advise on this issue before. apparently i don't have the experience you need. i did say before that he needed to be trained to step up, and if I remember correctly you said he did that from inside his hut and you where fine with that. I might suggest to you that you buy some books on parrottletts and parrot behaviour, maybe they can assist you more then I. Here is a stricly bird forum that may be able to assist you better. chats.upatsix.com/chats/viewforum.php?f=18

Thanks for the link. I'd like to find more active links. Sometimes I get impatient with Azul. And lately, 3 times I've chased him and grabbed him and he's lost blood feathers. Not happy to see my nut bird bleed. He seems to act like boss. How funny.... A bird about 3 inches being boss over a 5'6" human being. These birds are so delicate and it's hard for a human being to handle these animals without thinking you might squash them like a grape or injure them when you end up trapping and grabing them.

Poor Birdie Tina's the Expert when it comes to handling birds ~ so it's best to listen to her advice about problems with Azul ~ Good Luck!

Azul is so funny. Now he just waddles into the kitchen for me to pick him up. I still have to resort to catching him in his tent while he's in the cage. Seems so much better that way and it keeps me from chasing him around the cage and messing his feathers. I guess whatever works! Only got him the first part of February. I imagine day by day things will get better and he will become more curious and come to me.
I love the way he cuddles when I put him on my chest. His favorite seems to be nestling between my boobies. Took him over to my parents' ALF in a small cage and put him in my pocket while walking around. The residents just loved peaking in my pocket and looking at Azul. He was all comfy in there. I won't sit with him in my pocket- I might squash the poor thing or cut off his air supply....
