I just discovered about my beloved Shellby, My dear sweet Purple pincher hermit crab. I have had him for 2 and 1/2 years, I am so sad and so upset, that he died, I feel like I could have done something, that I could have, spent more time with him, maby, gave him more treats, something, anything, just to keep him here with me. I have always wanted to take Shellby to the beach, where he belongs, where he was born. I waned him to hear the ocean waves again to see sea gulls, to smell that fresh air again, I wanted him to be able to run along the beach, free and happy with no cares! We were going to move soon, to a place where we could go to the beach every day, where Shellby and Sandy could be free again, but we waited to late, Shellby will never be able to got o the beach again, until that day, when I cross the rainbow bridge, with him in my hand chirping because of how happy he will be to see me. people will say that loosing a hermit crab is not as bad as if you lost a dog or a cat, but they have personality, they can love, they can feel, they are just smaller, they need just as much care as any other animal, thats why I feel that I did not do all that I could do for him. You never know haw much you love someone, until you loose them

Ohhhh, Melody, I'm so sorry to hear about little Shelby You know what though? I believe Shellby is on the beach at the Rainbow Bridge having the time of his life running and playing with all the other little hermit crabs. Sure, he's probably missing you but he knows that you will joining him some day so until that day he doesn't have a care in the world because he's having too much fun playing with everyone there.... Lots of HUGS Connie
