I hadn't been camping for a couple years so I wasn't sure I'd be able to handle it because #1, I don't have a Van anymore to haul all the camp stuff and #2, I wasn't sure I'd be able to manage sleeping on the hard ground in a tent with my arthritis. Luckily my oldest son came along so we were able to use his truck for a lot of the camping gear and I just took my meds along for the arthritis and slept on an air mattress that luckily stayed inflated so everything turned out OK We had a great time! ;D One larger dog named Matty and Buddy didn't like each other very much so we just kept them separate from each other. )o; Let's see, there were 12 dogs total, all small except for Matty who is part Lab and There were 13 adults total including 3 of my boys, Rick, Jamie and Tad, Tad's girlfriend Laura, my daughter Shannon and her husband Mike. The weather was great and the campsite we chose was spacious enough for 2 very large tents and 4 smaller tents plus 2 very large motor homes "32 feet" long and we still had lots of room! The campsite was just above the clubhouse so we had easy access to toilets, showers, kitchen facilities etc.. Down below the clubhouse was the beach of "Harstien Island." This Island belongs to the Teamsters Local 313 who are all Truck Drivers. We all sat around the campfire at night telling camp tales (o; roasting hot dogs and marshmallows for smores. In the morning I made fresh camp coffee, pancakes, eggs and sausage (for those that eat sausage )o; anyway) and sat by the fire eating while telling more camp tales. It sure was a lot of fun! On Sat. the Annual Teamsters Picnic was held with lots of food, games and prizes. They had a horseshoe tournament which my brother-in-law won the last time we went to one of these and he isn't even a Teamsters, LOL! They also had a raffle for prizes but none of us won )o; Oh Well! There's always next year My son- in law took pictures, so as soon as I get them I'll post them here

Hey Yeh, I also had a great time & can't wait to go again! I just hope that Larry will be a Teamster next year. My three dogs' were so tired when we got home that they all fell asleep & didn't even want to take the time to eat,,,, even Sabrina! (imagine that?) Oh by the way Connie, Uncle Cliff died last night. Uncle Earl called mom & told her. He must have been around 91 or so. The last time I saw him in Yuma he didn't look so good. I hope both of your doggies are going to be ok. Let me know......

Buddy and Scruffy were SO tired they slept on top of the blankets and sleeping bags all the way home (a couple hours drive) then they went right to bed when we got home Mom told me about Uncle Cliff, that's very sad news Tina! Still no pictures but I'll get on Mike's case this weekend for them

OK everyone ~ we finally have a few photos from our camping trip so here they are ~ I've had them for a while now, trying to cut the size down without any luck, except for a few Mike, my son-in-law used his camera for all the pics and I scanned them onto my computer since he didn't have a disc to copy. They are pretty large so I'll try to keep this to a minimum Arrival at Harstine Island's Campgrounds We always pick this spot just above the Lodge and Beach ~ it's nice and Big! That's me on the right with my daughter Shannon center and my son's Rick and Jamie putting up the tents. Here's where we parked our cars until my sis and her in laws arrived with their two Big 32 ft Motor homes ~ Must be Nice (That's my son Jamie walking toward the campsite) Tent City is coming together ~ looking down from the main campsite where we will set up tables and a campfire when night falls Another view of our Tent City Here's a pic of Scruffy ~ Everyone brought their dogs along for the fun (that's my son-in-law Mike, in the chair taking life easy) Maddy, belongs to Joyce, my sis' sister-in-law (that's Scruffy behind Maddy) Mira, belongs to Rita, my sis' sister-in-law. Mira is the little dog who passed recently and is mentioned in the Rainbow Bridge category. Here's a Cute pic of my sis, Karen's 3 Bichon's ~ Misty, Cayla & Sabrina ~ opps! I'm in the background, cooking breakfast OK ~ Don't Laugh but here's one of me "caught by surprise" while I was cooking our first camp breakfast. Oh Well ~ we're camping ~ glamorous? who cares ;D Here's a pic Shannon took of her hubby Mike as he walked in the water on the Beach What a Beautiful Sunset at Harstine Island

Thanks everyone! Yeah it Is nice to camp but a lot of work! I don't know if we're going to be able to make it up there this year or not? I'll keep you posted Karen. The Teamsters picnic isn't until the second or 3rd week in August. Wish I had a Motor Home though! But alas, even if I did, I don't have a place to store it when it's not in use.
