For birds such as finches like I have you can either buy finch nests or you can make them from things you have around the house.
The same is true for nesting material.
My finches are using a old salt container for thier nest currently and they love it. Of course I had to remove the label for them to go close to it. But once they decided it was a good place to nest you can't keep them out of it.
For their nesting material they have lawn clipping from my yard which I do not treat with any chemicals, and they have lint from the dryer (also no chemicals)and leftover millet sticks. These things are all things you already have at home so really you do not have to buy nesting material at all!

& Welcome! As you can see this forum looks a little different than it did before due to an upgrade from V4 to V5....not sure I like the way it looks now so I will work on some tweaking to make it look better..Please bare with me as I make changes
