I was reading on another forum that one of the girls had her cat go missing and within 24 hrs the cat had been picked up by an animal shelter and destroyed.do all straying animals get picked up by animal shelters? a couple of our cats over here have been missing for a couple of weeks; but never been just picked up; thats terrible if they can do that sort of thing!
The Tacoma Humane Society here in Washington State has a "No Kill" policy 
They do the best they can to find the owners of lost pets and if they don't in a certain amount of time they place them up for adoption...
& Welcome! As you can see this forum looks a little different than it did before due to an upgrade from V4 to V5....not sure I like the way it looks now so I will work on some tweaking to make it look better..Please bare with me as I make changes
