Yes, I will. Poor Baby hasn't went potty yet this morning and yesterday he didn't go till late last night. He's only going once a day if even that.
I hope I can get some answers today!

Sorry everyone! I know I haven't been on here for a few days now. The reason I haven't been is because a family member (I haven't seen in a long time) came home. I'll talk more about that in another thread though. On to Buddy and what the doctor had to say! The doctor did a thorough exam with another urine test and looked at the ex rays that had been taken by the previous doctor. I had lots of questions about the prostate and bladder stones and I mentioned Buddy eating the fur off his paws. Dr Tate told me that it wasn't his prostate because during his exam he didn't feel any enlargement and besides that Buddy is neutered and neutered dogs usually don't have enlarged prostates. As far as the bladder stones, Buddy couldn't have that either because his previous tests only showed an elevated white cell count and no crystals. Crystals need to be in the urine and an elevated red cell count before bladder stones would be considered as the cause for Buddy's problems. Dr Tate said he wanted to do another urine test to make sure there were no crystals since it had been a week since the other doctor had the last test done. When the results came back he looked puzzled because instead of finding crystals or white cell elevation, Buddy's red cell count was elevated but still no crystals? He talked about kidneys, Cancer and all kinds of things but said not to worry because he was sure it was still the urinary infection and the antibiotic that he was taking wasn't working. The doctor told me the antibiotic that was prescribed was probably causing Buddy to eat his fur (an allergic reaction) and he wanted to put Buddy on an antibiotic that he always recommends first which usually clears up a urinary infection. It's called Clavamox. Dr Tate said to stop the other antibiotic immediately! The doctor told me if this antibiotic didn't work, the next step would be to do a urine culture followed by ultrasound and more ex rays. He wanted to see Buddy again in two weeks. Well, I'm very happy to report that the day after Buddy went on his new antibiotic, I noticed a change for the better and little by little he seems to be improving. ;D Dr Tate does know what he's talking about but I sure hope he's wrong about the other things he said Buddy might have Guess I won't know for sure until Buddy goes back for another urine test on August 3rd

Will keep my fingers crossed that Buddy continues to improve. Now for the next Q: Are you going to stick with Dr. Tate? He really seems to know his stuff.

Yes! Dr Tate is very good! I was first introduced to Dr Tate when I got Lucy, my first guinea pig because he's also the Exotic Specialist. He treated Lucy for mites that she had when I purchased her from Petco. Petco actually reimbursed me for these visits. My friend Monique told me there is another woman vet at this hospital who is very good too but she couldn't remember her name. I'll probably stay with Dr Tate though. Buddy is better today, getting back to his old self ;D Yesterday I shaved Buddy and Scruffy because we've had temps close to 100 degrees and they were suffering They both look so different, I need to get pictures of them so you can see just how different they do look

Buddy is more like himself now since he's been taking the new antibiotic except that today he's a little sluggish because of the heat. OMGosh! It's SO HOT here! We aren't used to these type of temps in Washington State! We're known for our web feet because of all the rain which by the way we haven't had much of lately I'm SO glad Memphis is doing better ;D That's very good news

The heat can sure be a drag for anyone! What is 100c converted to degrees? It's been 100+ degrees here We usually only get up to 80-85 degrees in the summer months. I'm sure this is global warming at it's worst right now. My hope is things get back to normal but I don't see that coming

I sure hope the heat wave ends for you all soon. I know just how hard it is to live with. We are expecting a return of the heat wave this weekend. Have had a few days break from it.

My husband hasn't stop moaning about the heat; in the winter when it was -10 he moaned about the cold; no pleasing him: Being serious; all the animals are feeling the heat; the poor old dog just lays about not knowing what to do we take them down to the river in the evening; they love that: I'm very tempted to join them; but don't like the look of the water: think I'll stick to the pool:
